Toronto Indigenous Youth Collective Conference


The Toronto Indigenous Youth Collective in partnership with the Toronto Indigenous Health Advisory Circle hosted their first Toronto Indigenous Youth Collective Conference.

Held over two days in March, the conference brought together 50 young adult leaders from across Toronto along with Elders, Knowledge Keepers and Artists with the goal to increase leadership capacity, promote wellness amongst indigenous youth.


Key themes of the conference focused on Health, well-being and leadership and attendees explored and discussed many topics including the cultural determinants of health as well as the importance of balancing the four directions in our lives (spiritual, mental, emotional and physical).


The leadership component worked on skill building in areas of traditional governance, entrepreneurship and community development.
